Happy the Clown Spike Memorial

Michael "Spike" Phillips passed away suddenly on October 11, 2017. He had just celebrated his 52nd birthday only weeks before with his friends. A graduate of Woburn High School, he was a hard working individual who always gave 110%. Over the years, he had worked many jobs and careers including being an electrician, computer programmer, taxi cab driver, DJ, and band member. Music was his most favorite passion. He had his own disk jockey company called "Spike The DJ." He also played keyboard for "Happy the Clown. Nothing made him happier than playing his music and performing to the crowd. He loved going to concerts and had quite a collection of music memorabilia. He lived his life following his passions and dreams.

General Party Info:

  • Please sign the guestbook. (Legible email addresses get invitations.)
    Donation jars are right next to the guestbook, and in the kitchen near the bar area, please feed them if you don't bring something!
  • Some munchies will be provided, more would be appreciated:
    If everyone stops and brings something, we'll get to have food all night if we want and eat like kings and queens.
  • Suggestions: home cooked food, pizza, fruit tray, veggie tray, cold cut tray, chips & dip, soda, hummus, M&Ms, pretzels, nuts.
    Home cooked stuff is always GREAT!
    You don't have to spend a lot, just bring something you enjoy.
  • Pizza Days, at 364 Boston Ave., is open until 3 AM.
    They also deliver - promptly! (Make sure you've got the money together *before* you call your order in!)

  • Smoking on the front porch ONLY - no smoking in the house.
  • $50 FINE per butt for cigarettes thrown off the porch!

MBTA access:

The 96 bus from Davis Square stops on George Street at Burget Ave. and picks up across George street at Marston. The next closest bus connection is Winthrop Street at Boston Ave. where the 96, 94 and 80 buses all stop. The MBTA Trip Planner is a good tool for making your travel arrangements.

Parking info:

Brookings Street doesn't have a lot of immediately available space. Your best bet is probably on Marston Street by the playground, one block over - note that Marston is one way from George Street to Summer Street, and Summer Street is one way (from Main Street to Winthrop Street).
